of the Armistice on 11th November, The Old Bill
Newsletter has published a Limited Edition postcard of Capt. Bruce Bairnsfather’s
drawing of Old Bill kneeling at the Cenotaph, originally published in
Bairnsfather’s weekly Fragments magazine on 13th August 1919. The
reproduction is of very high quality, in colour on a standard size 5”x4”
glossy, laminated postcard, with the wording “Commemorating the 90th
Anniversary of the Armistice 11th November 1918” and details of the original
date and place of publication of “His Pals” on the reverse. Copies
of this very desirable commemorative postcard, of which only 500 have been
produced, are available at £1.00 per card (including postage). Purchases of

VICTORIA SPA LODGE, BISHOPTON COMMEMORATIVE POSTCARD To
mark the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Bruce Bairnsfather at his former
home, Victoria Spa Lodge, Bishopton, Stratford upon Avon on Saturday, 10th
September 2005, sponsored by The Old Bill Newsletter, a special postcard
(limited to 500 copies) was published. The full colour postcard, illustrated
above, features two photographs of Victoria Spa Lodge as it is today, and two
from the First World War when it was Bruce Bairnsfather’s home, and also
incorporates an image of the commemorative plaque. The

BRUCE BAIRNSFATHER ST YVON
PLAQUE COMMEMORATIVE POSTCARD On
Saturday, 13th
December 2003 a plaque commemorating Captain Bruce Bairnsfather was unveiled
in St Yvon, Belgium. To mark this event, The Old Bill
Newsletter published a special postcard (limited to 500
copies). The postcard, illustrated above, features the portrait of
Bairnsfather by William H. Barribal which was exhibited at the Royal Academy
in 1917 (which was owned by Bairnsfather himself until the late 1920’s), the
first published Fragment from
France “Where did that one go?” (originally
conceived and drawn at St Yvon), the modern cottage at 12 Chemin du Mont de
la Hutte, St Yvon, on which the plaque will be erected, and the full text of
the plaque, as well as Bairnsfather’s distinctive signature. This
postcard is the only official souvenir of the plaque event, and is therefore
a MUST HAVE item for all Bairnsfather enthusiasts and collectors. The cards
