Old Bill Silver Charm

Probably the smallest item of Old Bill merchandise produced was the 'Ole Bill' silver gilt charm pictured here. The 1" charm has 'Silver' and the Registration Number 672383 embossed into the back, and was sold on a presentation card featuring cartoon images of Old Bill, and a rhyme -

When things go well or things go ill,

When life is fair or riling,

Just take a lesson from Ole Bill,

--------------------- Keep Smiling!

The card also had the Registration Number and 'Copyright' printed on it. However there is no reference to The Bystander or Bairnsfather, so the charm could well have been 'unofficial' merchandise. Its date and makers name are unknown.
