The Old Bill Newsletter

The Old Bill Newsletter was edited and published by Mark Warby between 1999 and 2010 - a total of 62 issues. The newsletter was started to help promote interest in Bruce Bairnsfather and his famous character, and as a way of keeping the growing number of enthusiasts and collectors worldwide informed and updated on any newsworthy events. It also acted as a forum for collectors, giving them the chance to make contact with each other and shred information. The last issue was published in February 2010.

Each issue contained articles on a variety of Bairnsfather-related themes - from features on some of the many Old Bill collectables and their history to auction news and the latest finds among collectors. There were also reproductions of numerous Bairnsfather cartoons, many not seen since their original publication.

Much of the material used in the newsletter came from the Editors' personal collection and unique Bairnsfather archive. This vast private archive comprises material gathered from around the globe during almost four decades spent researching Bruce Bairnsfather's life and work.
